Physics and Friends: Diversity & Inclusion Journal Club
You are here
Diversity and Inclusion journal club (for physics and our friends in related fields) is a forum to have meaningful, respectful conversations about issues surrounding diversity and inclusion with a focus that is specific to our STEM fields.
Next Meeting: Thursday, April 18th in PSB 416 from 12:20-1:15pm. You are welcome to bring your lunch.
The article for discussion is: Van Noorden, Richard. “Some hard numbers on science’s leadership problems.” Nature. 557, 294-296 (2018). https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-05143-8. We will use this as a starting point to think about how diversity might affect or be affected by the issues addressed in the article.
Our faculty host, Erich Mueller will start us off with a brief summary so please join the conversation even if you haven’t had a chance to fully read the article.
We hope that many of you will be able to attend,
Jenny Wurster (physics) and Erich Mueller (physics)
