Graduate Student

Overview

Before coming to Cornell I specialized in quantum information; I did research involving atom probe tomography of solid-state quantum logic devices. As a Physics instructor and instructional designer at the Naval Nuclear Power School, I designed and implemented an extensive institution-level instructional reform. As a graduate student in the Physics Department, I now work with Rene Kizilcec, a professor in the Information Science Department. We are endeavoring to develop a fully-specified model of how prior knowledge enables students' learning experiences. My research interests include course transformation, instructional design, fundamental models of cognition, and non-cognitive learning outcomes.
